I paint from life. Most of my paintings are started and completed in front of the subject. This means organising a working space with the subject in the field or studio, and returning at the same time each day when the light is the same until the work is completed. Obviously working with animals demands a certain kind of patience. Where this is not possible, besides my visual memory, I use my many studies from life ( bozzetti ), and my own reference photos for some details.
I have spent my whole life painting so only a few are represented here.
All the paintings are in oils on canvas unless otherwise stated.
